Police are investigating reports of a sexual assault in a Fife town.
Officers say a female “may have been the victim” of an attack on Halbeath Road, Dunfermline.
The incident took place on the evening of October 17.
Detective Sergeant Kieran Marsh of Dunfermline CID said: “We have recently received information that a female may have been the potential victim of a sexual assault and we are appealing for her to come forward.
“I would like to provide assurances that we take such crimes seriously and any report will be treated professionally and with sensitivity, with support provided by specially trained officers.”
