Three people were trapped in a vehicle in a collision near Windygates.
Firefighters had to cut free two of the casualties, a man and two women, and the third was helped out by paramedics.
Two were taken by ambulance to hospital.
The collision occurred at around 6.15pm on Saturday on the A911 between Glenrothes and Leven, and police closed the road.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A911 at Windygates, near Milton of Balgonie.
“On arrival at the incident three casualties were trapped within vehicles.
“The fire service extricated one casualty via door removal and a second casualty via roof removal and handed the casualties over to the ambulance service.
“The third casualty exited the vehicle with assistance from paramedics.”
