A crash involving a car and an HGV closed a busy Fife road during rush hour on Monday morning.
The collision happened on the A985 between High Valleyfield junction and the Cairneyhill roundabout at around 6.53am.
A man has since been charged.
“Police in Fife have charged a man following a road traffic collision on the A985 near High Valleyfield,” said a spokesperson for Police Scotland.
“The incident happened around 6.50am on Monday December 10, involving a Citroen car and an HGV. The road was closed for vehicle recovery and reopened around 9am.
“A 33-year-old man has been charged with a drug driving offence. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Emergency services were called to the scene and one person was cut free from their vehicle before being taken to hospital.
Recovery of the vehicles took several hours due to the size of the HGV and traffic built up in the surrounding areas.
