The alarm was raised at 12.45pm on the south side of the estuary after a woman just off the coast of Longniddry. HM Coastguard called on the RNLI crew at Kinghorn to assist, but it is understood the woman was out of the water and ashore when they arrived. She was treated by paramedics at the scene.
