Power tools have been stolen from two vehicles in west Fife over the past week.
Police said there was currently no evidence to suggest the incidents were linked but officers were keeping an open mind.
The first theft happened over the 24 hour period from Friday December 21, when a van was broken into in Meldrum Court, Dunfermline, and a quantity of power tools were taken.
Power tools were also taken from a second van in Markfield Road, Dalgety Bay, between Saturday and Sunday.
The thefts are under investigation and Police Scotland urged anyone with information to get in touch.
Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan from Dunfermline CID said: “At this time we have no evidence to suggest either of these thefts from vehicles are linked, but we are keeping an open mind.
“If you remember seeing any suspicious activity around either Meldrum Court, Dunfermline, or Markfield Road, Dalgety Bay, over the past weekend then please contact police immediately.
“We’d also urge members of the public to get in touch should any individuals approach them and offer to sell on any power tools without proof of ownership.”
Anyone with information can contact Dunfermline CID via 101 and quote incident number 2014 of December 23. Alternatively, members of the public can speak to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
