Thieves broke into a shop in Anstruther in the early hours of Boxing Day and stole a large haul of cigarettes and alcohol.
Police are investigating the raid on the Co-op, in St Andrews Road, and have appealed for information to help trace the culprits.
They said a large quantity of cigarettes and alcohol were taken from the convenience store and urged people to report anyone they believe may be trying to sell them on.
Detective Sergeant Karen Muirhead, of Levenmouth CID, said: “It is likely the culprits will look to sell on the stolen goods to members of the public and so anyone who is approached and offered the opportunity to buy cigarettes or alcohol should decline the offer and contact police.
“In addition, anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the shop during the early hours of Wednesday, December 26 should also get in touch.”
