A bus driver has been treated by paramedics after his vehicle careered into a lamp-post on a busy Glenrothes road.
Police were called to the Queensway in the town at around 8.15am following reports that a Stagecoach bus had left the eastbound carriageway and travelled up the grass verge.
Thankfully there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident, but the vehicle flattened a lamp-post and caused significant damage to other items of street furniture.
The bus also suffered extensive damage, and the driver, who is understood to be in his 20s, was treated for injuries by ambulance personnel at the scene.
One eyewitness described the scene as “proper carnage”, although emergency services were able to deal with the incident without closing the road.
Fife Council has also been notified about the incident.
