The accident took place on the A91 near Cupar at around 5.40pm on Wednesday. It is understood that no one was seriously injured following the smash, which happened close the Quaker Oats factory. The road was closed for more than three hours to allow for recovery of the damaged vehicles. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene but were stood down a short time later. It is understood that everyone involved was able to get out of their vehicles unassisted. Motorists were warned to avoid the area if possible and heavy delays were reported as traffic diverted via Springfield.
