VIDEO: Police release footage of Fife robbery suspect they believe may have fled to Ireland

Police probing the robbery of an elderly Fife woman are appealing to members of the public in Ireland for help.

The knife-wielding thug targeted the 76-year-old outside a property on Lundin Road in Crossford at around 11pm on Friday May 4.

She was held inside the house by the robber who made off with a number of items including jewellery and a number of cameras.

Officers have previously released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is believed to have links to the Greenock and Clackmannanshire areas.

Investigators now believe the man may have travelled to either Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

A CCTV still of the man the police want to speak to.

Anyone who believes they recognise the individual are asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan from Dunfermline CID said: “The man in the CCTV images may have information that can help with the ongoing investigation and one line of inquiry for us is that he may now be somewhere in either Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

“I’d ask that communities from both countries look at our footage and get in touch as a matter of urgency if they believe they recognise the man pictured.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relating to this robbery should also contact police immediately.”

Those with information can contact Dunfermline CID via 101 and quote incident number 0099 of May 5.

Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
