A Fife secondary school has been forced to close for a third day this week after experiencing further water supply issues.
Inverkeithing High School was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday after a problem was identified with a water meter connecting the supply to the school.
Staff and pupils returned to the classroom following repair work on Thursday, but issues continued and the decision was taken on Thursday afternoon to close the school again on Friday.
Ian Adair, headteacher, said: “Unfortunately despite everyone’s best efforts Inverkeithing High School has had further water pressure problems and will need to close again.
“The problem needs a much bigger repair.
“Scottish Water are continuing to work on site and we fully anticipate the school will open as usual on Monday morning.”
Mr Adair said the school would contact parents, carers and guardians to confirm that, but also urged them to look out for text/email alerts or Fife Council updates on social media.
