Police have returned to the scene where a 45-year-old man was murdered in Kirkcaldy.
Officers were posted at Alison Street in the south of the town where Kevin Byrne, who was also known locally as Kevin Forrester, was found dead in his home on Tuesday February 5.
Marked vehicles could be seen in the street on Sunday afternoon as officers stopped motorists and spoke to residents as part of the ongoing investigation.
The search for fresh evidence was conducted exactly two weeks after what is believed to be the last time Mr Byrne was seen alive.
Police were keen to speak to anyone who may have visited the street during that time, as well as residents, and noticed any suspicious activity.
They are trying to piece together Mr Byrne’s movements during period from the morning of Sunday February 3 to the hours before his body was discovered by a worried friend who broke into the bungalow through a front window.
An ambulance was called but Mr Byrne was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a post mortem examination, police confirmed his death was being treated as murder.
Investigators said Mr Byrne would have been “distinctive” because he had an amputated leg and walked using crutches.
On Sunday, Mr Byrne’s single storey house, which has been boarded up, was still cordoned off with police tape and a police van was parked outside.
Since the tragedy, police have been carrying out patrols in the area to reassure local residents.
Meanwhile, officers have been providing support to the family of Mr Byrne.

Detective Inspector Carol Craig said: “If anyone believes they have information that can help bring those responsible for Kevin’s murder to justice, then please contact police immediately.”
