Fire broke out in a timber dwelling in the Main Street in Lumphinnans on Monday afternoon. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews, two from Kirkcaldy and one from Burntisland, attended the scene at 2.30pm. Workmen were carrying out a heating installation in the premises and smoke was reported to be coming out from under the stair. The fire crews located the source of the fire and extinguished it before making the scene safe. No persons were involved in the incident. Crews from Lochgelly also attended a small fire in a building at the Thistle Industrial Estate in Cowdenbeath on Monday evening. Initial reports were a building was on fire. Two appliances from Lochgelly attended when the call came in shortly before 6pm. They discovered a small fire in a light fitting which was extinguished.
