A man has been taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital after a fire broke out in a block of flats in Leslie.
The alarm was raised at around 1.40am on Saturday morning as firefighters were called to the blaze which had started in a stairwell in Bank Place.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said one of the occupants of the flats was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
Crews from Glenrothes and Methil were summoned to contain the fire, which is thought to have started in a bin within the stairwell of the two storey terraced block.
Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to check if anyone else was affected by the fire, but no-one else required hospital treatment.
