Two people have been taken to hospital following a road accident on the A985 near Kincardine.
An air ambulance landed in an adjacent field and one of the casualties was airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
An eyewitness said they saw the helicopter taking off at around 6pm – more than two hours after the accident happened.
Another casualty was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The extent of their injuries is not known at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 3.45pm police received a report of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A985 near the junction with the B9037.
“The victims have been taken to hospital, where they are being treated for their injuries.
“Inquiries are continuing and the A985 has been closed at the Longannet roundabout and the Cairneyhill roundabout.”
