Firefighters were called to tackle a fire which broke out in a flat in Methil late on Thursday night.
Two crews from Methil and one from Kirkcaldy were alerted to the incident at a property in Taylor Street at 11.23pm following a report of a fire in a bedroom.
The elderly occupant and their pet had managed to get out of the building before the firefighters arrived, although a spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews evacuated an upstairs flat as well as a precaution.
The fire was quickly brought under control and crews left the scene at around 12.44am.
It is thought an electrical fault caused the fire, and Scottish Power have been called to investigate further.
