Fire crews in Fife were faced with a slightly unusual task on Tuesday – rescuing a trapped deer.
It took around 30 minutes for the animal to be freed from the railings at Aberdour Primary School.
Lee Mahady, a senior officer for the fire service, took a video of the incident.
It shows the crews trying to free the creature, with the assistance of a local resident.
In a post on Facebook, Lee said: “We would like to thank the two local ladies this morning for assisting the fire service in rescuing the trapped deer from the railings at Aberdour Primary School .
“We were able to release the deer with minimal distress.”
One appliance from Burntisland was sent to the scene of the incident, at around 8am.
The crew used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the animal.
