Dunfermline was awash with young vets, doctors, astronauts and cricketers on Saturday for the town’s annual Children’s Gala.
This year the theme was “When I Grow Up” and thousands of children who took part dressed up in the role they want as a career.
The event, which features a parade through the town centre involving around 2,500 young pupils from local primary schools as well as bands, started in 1902.
Launched at the gala was a new summer holiday initiative organised among venues in Dunfermline’s heritage quarter, supported by the Dunfermline Heritage Partnership and National Lottery heritage fund.
