The body of a pensioner has been pulled from the River Leven in Fife.
Police Scotland confirmed the body of a 70-year-old man was discovered in the water near Steelworks Brae in Methil on Saturday.
The man had been reported missing and officers had just arrived at his home address when the grim discovery was made.
Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “On Saturday June 22, police were called to an address in the Leven area to a report of a missing 70-year-old man.
“Around the same time, the body of a man was recovered from the water of the River Leven close to Steelworks Brae in Methil.
“Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
