Kinghorn’s volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew were called out to help the crew of a stricken Swedish vessel in the Firth of Forth on Monday evening. The 11-metre yacht in question suffered engine failure eight miles east of Kinghorn, prompting Kinghorn’s lifeboat crew to be paged at 7.12pm. A spokesperson for Kinghorn RNLI said: “The lifeboat was soon alongside the Swedish vessel which was near the Fairway buoy. “Due to the calm winds, they had requested assistance to get back to a port. “The vessel and crew was well equipped for their passage to Sweden.” The broken-down vessel was taken under tow to Port Seton, with the tow taking around 60 minutes. It was then secured in Port Seton with assistance from North Berwick Coastguard Rescue Team and Fisherrow Coastguard.
