The sister of the victim of a suspected hit-and-run accident in Fife says his family need to know what happened.
Sharon Iddir, 40, was out of the country and flew home after the death of her brother Scott Walker, 43, from St Monans.
Cyclist Mr Walker was found lying on the road between Elie and St Monans on Monday evening and died in hospital a day later.
Police believe he was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious head injuries.
Ms Iddir said: “We are absolutely devastated. Scott rode his bike everywhere. He was my big brother, full of nonsense, and my kids loved him.
“He had a wicked sense of humour and I loved him very much.
“We are just needing to know what happened now.”
East Neuk and Landward councillor Bill Porteous said: “I was shocked and saddened to hear of his accident and subsequent death at Ninewells Hospital.
“My thoughts, and I’m sure everyone else’s, are with his family and friends.
“I hope that any local people that have any information on the driver, whoever he or she is, will contact police.”
Police are trying to trace a silver or partly silver Vauxhall Astra believed to have been involved in a collision near Ardross cottages.
They want to establish whether that crash is linked with Mr Walker’s injuries.
Mr Walker was found lying on the A917 near Ardross Farm Shop by members of the public at 7.45pm.
Drivers who were in the area in the preceding 15 minutes or anyone who has information are asked to contact the police by phoning 101.
