An Angus man has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder a woman at a house in Arbroath.
Tony Cartney, 49, of Millgate, Friockheim, denied the offence from the dock of the High Court in Glasgow.
He is accused of striking the woman in the chest with a knife to her severe injury, permanently disfiguring her and putting her life in danger on September 8 2018.
Lord Arthurson heard that a recording and transcript of a 999 call made on the day would be disclosed.
He also heard further forensic analysis was due to be conducted on items recovered from the house, and further inquiries would be made in relation to the case.
A motion for a further preliminary hearing before Cartney’s trial was granted.
