The sun shone as the curtain came down on the 2019 Highland Games season in Fife.
Inverkeithing Highland Games, dubbed the family friendly highland games is traditionally the finale to the circuit of games and it saw a huge crowd converge on Ballast Bank.
Games Secretary Shane Fenton said the nine weeks of the games’ circuit had come and gone in a flash since the opening in Markinch.
As always, there was a full programme of highland dancing, running, cycling, heavy events, tug o’ war and pipe band competitions to entertain the crowd.
Cycling events are always a highlight of the Inverkeithing Games, which has long been linked to the Royal Burgh’s Lammas Fair celebrations.
The Ballast Bank 400 metre red ash track is the only one on the circuit and gives the specialist grass track riders the chance to try the slicker, faster course.
The man who came out on top in the unusual conditions was Charles Fletcher  from Grantown on Spey who added the Scottish Highland Games Association’s Scottish 6,400m and 4,800m titles to his haul for the season.
The crowds were entertained to a nail biting finish in the 90m athletics handicap race.
This draws the top cash prize of £250 but it will have to be split this year.
Not even a photo-finish could separate last year’s victor Fraser Neil from Kelso and Alistair Moriarty, representing local club Pitreavie AC and a dead heat was called.
In the heavy events none could match Dan Carlin of Renfrew who won seven out of the eight disciplines.
