Emergency services have been combing Kirkcaldy seafront in the search for a missing woman.
Police said the coastguard and the RNLI were involved in the hunt, which is focused on the Seafield area of the town.
Eyewitnesses reported a heavy police presence in the area on Wednesday morning.
One woman said she saw two police vans and three coastguard jeeps.
Kinghorn RNLI lifeboat was also out, while a coastguard helicopter was circling above the area.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently conducting search activity in the Seafield area of Kirkcaldy as part of their efforts to trace a missing 30-year-old woman.
“The coastguard is involved in assisting with the search.”
It is believed the woman was last seen in the Seafield area at around 6pm on Tuesday.
Police said they expected to release an update on the search soon.
