An almost naked man who exposed himself to three girls on a Glenrothes path is being hunted by detectives.
He was standing wearing nothing but a t-shirt over his head when the youngsters, aged 11 and 12, saw him on Boblingen Way on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred behind Barnhill Place at around 2.10pm.
Other people were using the popular route at the time and it is believed they may have seen the perpetrator.
Police have appealed to the public for information to help trace the man, said to be around 6ft tall and heavily built.
Detective Constable Stephanie Drummond, of Glenrothes Police Station, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries since this incident was reported to trace the man responsible.
“We know that there were other people walking along the path at the time of this incident and we would appeal to them, or anyone with information that will assist our investigation, to contact officers.”
Witnesses reported seeing police in the area on Sunday after the crime was alleged to have been committed.
The man was described as white and the t-shirt was dark coloured.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Glenrothes police by phoning 101 and quoting reference number 2275 of September 15.
