A self-employed joiner headbutted his brother when he discovered he had missed out on fitting his new kitchen.
The battered victim Jason Galloway sustained a broken nose and was punched.
Scott Galloway lost the plot when he visited Jason’s home.
Former soldier Galloway was told by Jason their uncle fitted the kitchen, triggering the onslaught.
Galloway, 35, of Boyle Drive, Rosyth, appeared for sentencing yesterday at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He previously admitted on October 7 at Primrose Avenue, Rosyth, he assaulted Mr Galloway by headbutting and punching him to his severe injury.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said: “He was clearly angry about not being asked to install the kitchen. There was an argument.”
Galloway then headbutted his brother on the face and punched him on the body before the victim hit his brother on the face with a radio.
Police attended and found the victim with heavy bleeding coming from his nose, which later required to be straightened.
Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said the brothers now “keep out of each other’s way”.
Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a community payback order with 180 hours of unpaid work and 12 months’ supervision. Galloway was also ordered to pay his brother £1,000 compensation.
