Councillors have approved plans to build 43 new properties on farmland on the outskirts of Cardenden, despite fears that the site could be prone to flooding.
The proposal, which includes 20 affordable homes, is for an area off the B918 Cardenden Road.
Concerns had been raised about the land’s proximity to both the Den Burn and the River Ore, and the potential that homes could flood.
However, Fife Council’s central and west planning committee approved the application from Lochay Homes, after receiving an assurance from planners that the installation of drainage and the site layout means properties would not be put at risk.
