A man has appeared in court on an attempted murder charge in connection with an alleged Angus hit-and-run incident.
Colin Sangster made a private appearance before Sheriff Derek Reekie at Forfar Sheriff Court on a petition alleging assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
The charges are understood to relate to an incident in Brechin’s City Road in the early hours of August 18 which left a man seriously injured.

Police cordoned off the area around City Road’s junction with Damacre Road for a number of hours as part of the Sunday morning investigation.
A 34-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the early hours incident.
The inquiry involved an appeal for information about a Renault Clio car and police requested dashcam or CCTV footage from residents and motorists in the area at the time.
Sangster, 26, of no fixed abode, appeared from custody and made no plea.
He was committed for further examination and remanded by Sheriff Reekie.
A date for a further court appearance has not been confirmed.
