Convenience stores in Dundee and Angus are offering free deliveries to people aged over 60 during the coronavirus outbreak.
Hayat’s Premier Store and Mace, both based in Lochee, and Booze Express in Carnoustie and Family Shopper in Arbroath will drop their delivery charges and deliver any item sold in store within the hour.
Orders should be placed through the Snappy Shopper app, which was developed in Dundee, with the code OVER60 entered at checkout.
The firm’s head of marketing Ashley Blake said: “We want to protect our elderly. This initiative means they can get their groceries while staying in isolation.
“We are happy that all of our Tayside stores using the platform have agreed to this initiative.
“We want to ensure that vulnerable people in your community aren’t left without essential supplies.”
