A pupil at Monifieth High School has tested positive for coronavirus.
The sixth year student, in the 6B2 group, is in isolation and close contacts have been identified.
Parents of close contacts are being contacted by school staff and asked to isolate.
A letter sent to parents of pupils told to isolate said: “Your child has been identified by NHS Tayside’s health protection team as a close contact and should now self isolate as a precaution.
“In line with the national guidance your child should now stay at home and self-isolate until November 2, 14 days after last contact with the case.
“They can return to normal activities on November 3.
“Your child must now remain at home, and not go outside or meet anyone from other households.
“We are asking you to do this to reduce the further spread of COVID 19 to others in the community.
“If your child is well at the end of the 14 days period of self-isolation, then they can return to usual activities.”
