The A933 remains closed in both directions after a collision involving two vehicles.
Police shut the road south of Friockheim, at Legaston Brae, at 1.30pm after being made aware of the accident.
One person has been taken to Ninewells Hospital, but it is not known if they are seriously injured.
Recovery was being arranged for at least one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
The road remained closed at 3pm as police waited for workers to clear debris.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers put barriers in place at around 1.30pm. It is a two vehicle road traffic collision (RTC).”
