An iconic Dundee music venue is equal with the best concert halls in the world thanks to the arrival of a new musical instrument.
The Caird Hall is now home to a “fleet” of pianos after unveiling its third Steinway Grand at Marryat Hall on Wednesday.
The instrument has been secured following two years of fundraising and private donations.
And one of the first musicians to play the Steinway was Harris Academy pupil Grace Dobson, 17, who performed Tugela Rail and Blues for Beth.
The Caird Hall’s music and events development officer Angela Doran said: “Having three Steinways puts us on a par with world-renowned music venues all over the world.
“Steinway call it a fleet of pianos. We now have three, main Steinway pianos
“Obviously it makes a step-up for any concert organisation who wants to come to Dundee.”
The piano will be put to use on Tuesday, December 10 for a show from the Dundee Chamber Concert with Trio Martinů.
