Emergency services were scrambled to a busy Dundee street following reports of a “suspicious smell” from a property on Friday night.
At least three fire engines and several police cars rushed to Albert Street, at the junction with Raglan Street, at 10.30pm.
No one was said to have been injured during the incident and there was no threat to the public, police said.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman explained: “Police were called at around 10.30pm to a property on Albert Street to assist other emergency services following reports of a suspicious smell.
“There was no risk to the public and the road was re-opened at 11.35pm.
“Police assisted with traffic management.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman confirmed that fire and rescue crews were on the scene.
She added: “We were alerted at 10.19pm on Friday, December 20 to reports of a suspicious smell.
“Operations control mobilised several appliances and specialist resources to Albert Street in Dundee.
“The air was monitored and it was established that there was no cause for concern.
