Locals have flocked to two popular Dundee takeaways following their reopenings on Thursday morning.
The McDonald’s drive-throughs at Camperdown and Longtown Road welcomed back customers from 11am following closures of more than two months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
And huge queues formed outside both restaurants from early in the morning.
At Camperdown, vehicles snaked through the leisure park and along the back of the Cineworld building.
The two Dundee restaurants are among 261 drive-through to reopen across the UK and Ireland on Thursday.
It comes after nine branches reopened in Angus, Perth and Fife on Tuesday, leading to huge queues of customers.
A McDonald’s spokeswoman said: “Today, a further 261 drive-throughs reopen across the UK and Ireland, and another eight restaurants will begin offering McDelivery too.
“We are glad to be back but it will look a little different and may take a little longer, so please bear with us.
“We have fewer employees in our kitchens to enable our teams to social distance and work safely.
“We will have a limited menu (no breakfast or shakes for now) and will open for reduced hours (11am-10pm).
“We encourage you to use contactless payment methods and cap your spend at £25.
“We’re delighted to be returning to communities across the UK and Ireland, thank you for your continued support and patience. We look forward to seeing you soon.”
Lockdown forced the closure of McDonald’s takeaways in late March.
