Emergency services are responding to a fire at the Baldovie Industrial Estate in Dundee.
The fire service are currently at the scene, with police also attending after they were called at around 8.30pm.
It is thought to have started at an old warehouse unit at the estate.
A resident living nearby said: “It’s hard to tell how big the fire itself is but there is a lot of thick, black smoke.
“You can see it from miles away, it’s drifting quite far.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “It’s an ongoing incident, police are currently in attendance.
“It’s at Baldovie Industrial Estate, we got the call around 8.30pm.”
The force also advised local residents to close their windows due to “excessive smoke”.
A Broughty Ferry resident said “bangs and pops” of explosions could be heard, as well as the billowing smoke.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have sent five appliances, including an aerial platform, to the scene.
They expect firefighters to be in attendance for a considerable time.

Police have put a road closure in place between Summerfield Avenue and Berwick Drive.
Bus services in the area were also affected.
