A woman has died following a three-car crash in Broughty Ferry. Part of St Vincent Street was closed off following the collision at around 6pm. Police Scotland have confirmed that a woman died at the scene, although it is understood she may have died after falling ill at the wheel. No one else was badly hurt. A force spokeswoman said: “We were called to the accident at Broughty Ferry this evening. “Sadly a woman has died, but it appears it may have been as a result of a medical matter. “We cannot say much more because the incident is still under investigation.” The crash happened near the railway bridge. One on-looker said: “We saw the police and ambulance parked up in the middle of the road. “I could see someone lying in the street. It looked very serious.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed they were called to the incident, but referred all enquiries to Police Scotland.
