A suspect package discovered at the Overgate Shopping Centre in Dundee triggered an emergency response from police on Wednesday afternoon.
Police closed several roads in the area surrounding the city centre shopping mall after the alarm was raised following the discovery of the package close to the Primark store.
The centre was evacuated for a short period as officers investigated the “suspicious” package.
However, it was deemed not to be of risk and the centre was reopened a short time later.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.15pm on Wednesday June 16 we were made aware of a suspicious package at the Overgate Shopping Centre, Nethergate, Dundee.
“As a precaution a number of local roads were closed while the item was examined.
“It was found to be discarded, broken items and there was no threat to the wider public.
“The roads were opened a short time later.”
