Police and fire chiefs are probing a massive blaze which destroyed a house in a Dundee housing estate.
Emergency crews raced to the scene of the inferno just after 7.30pm on Monday.
The house on Lewis Terrace, at Mill O’ Mains on the city’s northern edge, was well ablaze when firefighters arrived.
The single storey timber building was still under construction. It was being built by housing association Home Scotland and was being especially adapted for a disabled resident.
Although the investigation is at an early stage, the fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
Residents reported youngsters playing on the site earlier in the evening.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “We were called to a fire at a property which was still under construction.
“Two appliances from Kingsway East attended and used jets and a hose reel.”
The crews were battling the blaze for nearly an hour, she said.
A Police Scotland spokesman added: “We were called to the scene at about 8.12pm.
“The cause of the blaze is unknown. Obviously, that is something which will still need to be investigated.”

She said that the fire had caused some damage to neighbouring properties.
“The heat caused windows of two nearby homes to crack and there was other damage reported,” she said.
“People won’t have to leave their homes, however. ”
She confirmed no one was injured.
The fire service received several 999 calls about the incident after great plumes of smoke could be seen across Dundee.
Home Scotland has been working with the council to redevelop the area as part of a £45 million project.
