Animal lovers have expressed their delight after volunteers announced their belief that stolen dog Rosco has been found safe and well.
A post on the specially set up “Help Find ROSCO” Facebook page claimed the missing puppy, stolen from Dundee pensioner, Leonard Ormond’s garden, is in good condition after being traced
Though Rosco has been successfully located, campaigners confirmed he is yet to be reunited with his overwhelmed owner.
The triumphant post said: “We are absolutely delighted to inform all of our followers that Rosco has just been found safe and well.
“More details will follow as soon as we have them … We ask all of our well wishers, sharers, searchers and media to please respect the family at this time as Rosco is still not home.
“We have no more details at present but as soon as we do we will let you all know.”
Local animal lovers who have been following the campaign to reunite Rosco with his rightful owner took to social media to express their delight.
Tributes were paid from as far as Arizona to the volunteers who donated their time to trace the popular puppy.
One well-wisher, Susan Henderson said: “I’m crying. Happy tears of course.
“Wonderful, wonderful!!”
Another, Ali Cottrell said: “This has brought a little tear to my eye.
“Been following Rosco for ages and had everything crossed. So happy for you all.”
Rosco was posted missing last month.
Celebrities including Lorraine Kelly and DJ, Sarah Cox joined one million others in sharing pleas for information on his location.
