A major leisure firm will buy the Piperdam resort on the outskirts of Dundee within days, The Courier can reveal. Protracted negotiations over the multi-million pound deal have gone on for several days. Owners Phil Mulholland and Bruce Linton are understood to have agreed a deal in principle, with just final details to be thrashed out. The exact price being paid for the 500-acre resort is being withheld but it is thought it could be be a hefty eight-figure sum. It is understood the buyer has gone to a major London-based investment company to fund the acquisition. Rumours sweeping the area that it is holiday village specialists Center Parcs behind the deal have been denied. Neither Mr Mulholland nor Mr Linton was available for comment.
