A couple woke up to find their car had been broken into with a mop.
Maryanne White, 21, and her partner Kris Thompson, 35, stepped outside their city centre home in Bonnethill Place last Sunday to find their Autobianchi Lancia Y10 damaged, but with nothing stolen.
It is believed the culprit damaged the door after snapping the mop in half trying to gain access and then damaged the steering wheel inside.
Maryanne said: “It was a shock and a bit strange.
“It’s been a stressful time and we were really sad and upset – why would someone do that?”
The couple reported the crime to the police but as yet nobody has been caught.
