The flagship Dundee-to-Amsterdam Flybe route has been dealt a blow just six months after its launch.
The airline has announced passengers will be bussed to Edinburgh airport until further notice.
The measure, implemented as a result of “a review of operations”, came into effect on Thursday and is said to be temporary.
Flybe has not specified when flights will return to normal.
A spokesman said: “As a result of an ongoing review of operations, Flybe has taken the decision to temporarily operate the above route via Edinburgh Airport with a coach connection to Dundee with effect from Thursday November 10.
“Flybe is committed to working with Dundee Airport to resolve this as quickly as possible and sincerely apologises to customers for any inconvenience.”
Passengers had already experienced changes to their route before the announcement, with those travelling on Sundays bussed to Edinburgh
throughout October.
At the time, a Flybe spokesman said the issue would be resolved when the airline introduced its winter flight schedule in November – contrary to Thursday’s announcement.
One passenger affected by the changes is Dundee University Professor Stephen Partridge, who is due to fly to Amsterdam tomorrow.
He said: “I have just had an email informing me that my flight will now be from Edinburgh.
“This is obviously inconvenient and, while I support the Amsterdam route, I wish there had been more transparency.”
