A Dundee school could be turned into a custody unit for female offenders.
The move follows an announcement that Dundee had been chosen as the location for one of the country’s new community custody units, which will allow up to 20 women to spend part of their jail sentences closer to home.
It is understood Rosebank Primary in the Hilltown is one of a number of sites being considered by Scottish Prison Service chiefs in conjunction with Dundee City Council.
Rosebank Primary is scheduled to close next summer when pupils are due to move in to the new Coldside campus.
