Three teenagers have been charged with murder following the death of a 50-year-old man found with serious head injuries in a Dundee street.
The youths, aged 15, 16 and 17, are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the death of John Watt.
He was found lying in Albert Street in Stobswell around 3.35am on Sunday.
He was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment but later died as a result of his injuries.
The three teens were detained in connection with Mr Watt’s death on Sunday.
Police Scotland revealed they were treating the case as murder on Monday.
They issued a statement confirming the trio had been charged in connection with Mr Watt’s death later that night.
It said: “Police Scotland can confirm that three males aged 15, 16, 17 years of age have been charged in connection with the death of 50-year-old John Watt in Albert Street, Dundee on Sunday January 7.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
