Drivers have been told to exercise “caution” on the Tay Road Bridge as Scotland is hit by a spell of windy weather.
The Met Office has forecast stormy conditions across the country with gusts of up to 80mph expected to hit the Highlands.
A 30mph speed limit has been placed on the Tay Road Bridge as a result of the high winds, with double-decker buses banned from using the route for the time being.
Traffic Scotland said: “Road users are advised to use caution crossing the A92 Tay Road Bridge due to high winds currently affecting driving conditions. The bridge is closed to double decker buses.”
A Met Office yellow warning of wind will be in force for Tayside, Grampian, the Highlands, the Western Isles, Strathclyde, Orkney and Shetland from 1am until 2pm on Wednesday.
Tay Road Bridge staff tweeted: “High winds – bridge closed to double decker buses, 30mph speed restriction in place.”
A Met Office statement said: “A spell of windy weather is expected with gusts widely 50 to 60 mph and over the Hebrides and northern and western parts of Highland gusts are likely to reach 70 to 80 mph.
“These high winds will probably affect some bus and train services leaving some journeys taking longer. Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely and some short term loss of power and other services is possible.”
