Pupils of a Dundee driving instructor have been urged to come forward and report any issues they have experienced with his service.
The request has come from the website GoRoadie.com, which helped match Gemma Scott with the Passing Place run by Ken Melville.
Ms Scott, 25, contacted the website after running into difficulties with her tuition.
The Ninewells nurse claims she paid Mr Meville £100 upfront for five lessons, only for him to cancel the second session, blaming faults with his car.
She said she made repeated failed attempts to reschedule before asking for a refund, but Mr Melville refused to respond.
Ms Scott said the instructor finally put the £100 through her letterbox this week – but only after she had complained to GoRoadie.com and contacted The Courier.
She said: “I am so relieved to have finally got my money back.
“After the first lesson there were no warning signs that this would happen. Everything went well and he was really supportive. When he started cancelling lessons I gave him the benefit of the doubt as these things happen.
“I’m still determined to learn to drive, but this is a setback.”
Mr Melville did not return any calls from The Courier.
However, a GoRoadie spokesman confirmed it had received a complaint about an instructor.
The spokesman said: “Our goal is to connect the best driving instructors and students to give them the best opportunity to learn. Unfortunately, in this instance, this hasn’t happened.
“We are offering the student in question a free lesson with another GoRoadie instructor.
“Additionally, we are asking all students who went with the alleged driving instructor to fill out a review so we have a clear representation.”
Jacqui Turland, Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency approved driving instructor registrar, said: “DVSA regulates all 40,000 approved driving instructors and will monitor and investigate complaints made against them.
“If an instructor is deemed not to be fit and proper they will be removed from the register.”
