Dermot O’Leary hailed V&A Dundee on Monday morning as he arrived in the city to announce the nominations for this year’s National TV Awards (NTAs).
The X-Factor presenter arrived at the newly-opened £80million museum to announce the nominees for one of the UK’s leading TV awards events.
It is said to be the first time the the NTA shortlist has been announced in Scotland.
Top actors are up for awards including Cillian Murphy for Peaky Blinders, Richard Madden for Bodyguard, Jodie Whittaker for Doctor Who and Michelle Keegan for Our Girl.
Speaking on the stage at the V&A O’Leary said: “It’s been a real pleasure coming up, I’m really glad we did it as well – just to get us out of London, get us somewhere else and see your fine citizens.
“It’s a beautiful place you’ve got here I can’t wait to look around it.”
O’Leary joked that the audience could “boo if you want” when one-time X-Factor co-star Simon Cowell was announced as a nominee in the “best judge” category.
He was also given a special Beano comic strip from Dennis the Menace and Gnasher on stage.
