Rivers are at risk of overflowing and roads across Fife, Angus, Dundee and Perthshire have been left impassable as heavy rainfall batters the region. Footage above this article shows intense flooding near Muirdrum on the A92 Dundee to Arbroath road. Traffic is said to be tailing back on sections of the road, with water totally covering sections of the carriageway. Kim MacDonald, who posted footage of the flooded A92, wrote: “Long tail backs and a good 15 mins to get through it. Be careful or avoid.” The route is also flooded near Monifieth. One road users said she was “surprised the road is still open”. Roads are also flooded in St Andrews and across Fife and Perthshire. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has upgraded an alert for parts of Tayside and issued five flood warnings for the area. Flood water on the Esplanade in Broughty Ferry.
