Part of a Fife hotel has been cordoned off amid investigations into an unexplained death.
Police and an ambulance were called to Drummond’s Hotel in Markinch, after the man’s sudden death on Wednesday morning.
Witnesses said three police cars arrived at the premises on Balbirnie Street at around 10am.
The hotel has been closed and the kitchen area to the rear of the building has been taped off.
Locals said police officers had been going round doors asking for CCTV footage.
Inquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Rachael Burns of Glenrothes Police Station said: “Officers were called to an address on Balbirnie Street, Markinch on Wednesday, November 20 following the sudden death of a man.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.”
