Students from the University of St Andrews have donated vital personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies for use by care workers and NHS frontline staff throughout Fife.
Led by the St Andrews Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSASTA), a group of 23 Chinese students currently at the university, the donated items include 1,300 face masks, surgical gloves, goggles and disinfection tablets.
Students donated their own supply of PPE related to their course of study at the university.
The PPE donations were delivered to the University of St Andrews School of Medicine and will be distributed throughout Fife for use by key workers, carers and frontline NHS staff.
Liangfei Zhang, one of the students from CSSASTA involved in collecting the PPE and donating them to the university, said: “We sincerely hope the donated medical items could be helpful at this pandemic moment for the NHS staff and the broader local community.”
