Police charge , 81, man in connection with Fife hit-and-run which left woman in hospital

An 81-year-old man has been charged by police in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Fife that left a woman with multiple injuries.

The incident in Dalgety Bay on April 25 left the cyclist, 22, in hospital suffering from leg, arm and facial injuries.

Sergeant Scott Maxwell, of Dalgety Bay Police Station, said: “We can confirm that an 81-year-old man has been charged in connection with a collision between a car and a cyclist on Harbour Drive last month.

“The incident happened on Saturday, April 25, and the 22-year-old female cyclist was taken to Victoria Hospital. Thankfully she has no serious or life-changing injuries.

“The 81-year-old is expected to appear in court at a later date.

“I’d like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation, alongside the diligent work of local officers.”
